Fast and Furious 7 Review

fast-and-furious-7-posterI know this review is late but better late than never.  Here’s my review of Fast and Furious 7.  As you may or may not have known the lead star Paul Walker, passed away when the movie’s production was about 85 percent completed.  The film took another year to complete.  Paul Walker’s brother was able to finish some of his roles for him and they also use CGI.  By the way, thank you to the Motion Picture Association of America, for letting me screen this film last week I was on the HBCU tour in Washington DC.

I would give this movie and an 4 out of 5.  The film was good the action sequences were pretty good.  But the movie is starting to compete against itself.  Each film needs to top the last film in action and explosions so it’s becoming a tad bit unbelievable.  For example, The Rock can be in a hospital with a broken arm and break his cast by flexing, pick up a 50 Cal and take down a helicopter. Now don’t get me wrong, even thou the action scenes were unbelievable they still were great.  Driving a Ferrari through a skyscraper windows and landing it through the skyscraper next door,  was so unbelievable.  But, visually the way the production was handled it looked so cool.  So it’s allowable, not too over the top, but it’s getting close to that line. I know I’m being petty you for pointing that out.  Too much action is a good problem to have in a movie.

The fight scenes were well choreographed.  Jason Statham, was a breath of fresh air in this franchise.  Jason Statham is starting to play the same charter in every movie.  It was good to see him play the bad buy for a chance.  The writers actually gave some character development to Tyrese’s and Ludacris’s character.  So the writing was better than expected. Everybody’s talking about the end of the movie.  I’m not going to give any spoiler alerts but the way they sent Paul Walker off at the end of the movie was very well written.   Visually ,aesthetically, even the music was on point. The movie couldn’t have ended any better and between me and you I shed a little tear.
