Entourage The Movie Review
After years of hearing about it, the Entourage movie finally happened. Unlike most TV shows that became movies, it was pretty good. First of all, around of applause for Mark Wahlberg for making this movie happen. There are a lot of TV programs I like, that I wish were made into movies; Some examples are The Sopranos, The Wire, The Blacklist, Chuck, Leverage and 24 to name a few. But, to pull this off and put one of my favorite TV shows on the big screen, is a great accomplishment. So going into this movie, I was so greeked to see it, I already gave this movie alot of leeway. Honestly I didn’t need to give this movie any leeway, it stood on his own is a great film. The writing in the film was good. Not only good I felt this movie was realistic. It’s as if the writers were inside of my head. As soon as I thought something they instantly addressed it.
There was a scene in the film that I thought this is getting really heavy. Why is all this happening to Eric ( Kevin Connolly)? The film quickly resolved it and made light of the situation. I would say this film is the perfect balance of action, comedy, drama, and bromance. Even the real life A list celebrity actors didn’t take over the film and they knew their roles.
This movie showed the importance of friends and family. The only drawback from this film is, if you didn’t watch the show you might not fully understand the movie. You’ll definitely get the script and what’s going on. They do a good job explaining what’s happening and who everybody is. But, you might not understand the underlining themes the movie trying to get across. I wouldn’t be surprised (even though I wouldn’t agree with them) if some critics said this movie was misogynistic, or a glorification of alcohol, sex, and drugs. Just keep in mind while watching this this is a good old fashioned buddy feeling good film. I give this film 4.1 out of 5 stars. This movie is definitely going on my best movies of 2015 list right after Fast Furious 7 and Avengers 2.
